BIOL 124: Plants and Wildlife of Washington

This course is meant to familiarize students with plants and wildlife of Washington, especially those found locally. Students will learn to recognize common species and understand the special adaptations that each organism has for survival. We will explore how climate, natural disasters, and geologic history influence plants and wildlife found here. We will also evaluate the relationship of humans with the natural world. This course fulfills a lab science credit and is intended for students majoring in non-science fields.
Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENGL& 101  and eligibility for MATH 080 
Note: Field trips are required as part of this course and often involve hiking over uneven terrain. Any questions regarding field trips should be directed to the instructor.
