AST 112: Fundamentals and Engines Lab

This lab course is the competency-based application of AST 110’s Fundamentals and Engines theory that follows the Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation accreditation standard’s assigned Tasks. Fundamental technical skills are cultivated through practice of appropriate inspections, maintenance, disassembly and reassembly of components, and repairs. Diagnostic and repair strategies for ICE mechanical failures are developed using industry service information, tools and equipment, and testing procedures in an industry-replicated facility.
Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in AST 100  or completion of with a grade of C or better; Concurrent enrollment inAST 111 ; and eligibility for MATH 080  and ENGL 090T , or permission of instructor.
