AHBC 102: Introduction to Medical Billing2 Cr
Quarters: F, W, S
This course will introduce students to accurate billing procedures in the medical office. Topics will include health care insurance, preparation of an insurance claim form Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 1500 to receive reimbursement for a patient encounter, applying third party payor guidelines, and collection procedures.
Prerequisite: Current enrollment in the Medical Office Assistant program, Medical Billing and Coding program, or Medical Assisting program or permission of instructor.
