AHBC 101: Introduction to Medical Coding3 Cr
Quarters: F, W, S
This course provides a basic introduction to medical coding procedures to obtain reimbursement for medical procedures, examinations, and supplies. Topics include the proper application of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of diseases 10 Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), and introduction of modifiers.
Prerequisite: Completion with a 72% or better of AH 119 and current enrollment in the Medical Office Assistant program, Medical Billing and Coding program, or Medical Assisting program or permission of instructor.
