Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST)
I-BEST opportunities enable students to develop both their literacy and job skills as they prepare for the workforce and continued study in college. I-BEST offerings pair a professional/technical content instructor with an adult basic education instructor to help students progress in reading, writing, and math while also training for a career. I-BEST students can work on improving their basic educational skills while also earning college-level credit. Students participating in I-BEST can receive specialized financial aid and academic support services.

Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) I-BEST
YVC offers a nine-credit, one-quarter program that prepares students for a career in healthcare as a nursing assistan. YVC offers a Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC), IBEST supported certificate program. The program, prepares students for a career in healthcare as a nursing assistant. In order to receive this certificate, students will complete 60 hours of theory work and 60 hours of clinical work. After completion of the NAC training, students will be required to pass, the Nursing Assistant Certified skills and written exam before being granted a license with the State of Washington and the Department of Social and Health Services, and Department of Aging and Long Term Care.
