The Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology Networking - System Administration (BASIT) degree is designed for students who have earned an applied associate degree and need a pathway to a bachelor’s degree. This pathway combines lower-division technical and transfer courses with upper-division credits in Information Technology, resulting in an application-oriented, four-year degree. Full-time students can generally complete the degree in as few as two years if prerequisites have been met. Students work closely with a program advisor to create an individualized education plan that addresses all program requirements upon admittance into the program. Once admitted, students may start the program the following quarter.
Each BASIT class meets in the evening one time per week for two hours. Continued instruction and student interaction takes place online.
This degree will broaden and deepen students’ foundational knowledge, adding general education, theory, advanced technical and professional skills, and integrative collaborating learning.
