Medical Interpreter (Spanish/English) Certificate

Designed for the Spanish/English bilingual student, this certificate teaches the framework to understand the role of Medical Interpreter, the professional criteria to respond to a variety of interpreting situations, and the concrete skills to allow the interpreter to provide effective interpretation and cultural advocacy. The curriculum uses participatory training techniques, such as role play, to include the student in an active learning process.  The Medical Interpreter Certificate takes one quarter to complete.
