Business Administration Certificates
Students can obtain certificates in specialized areas of business including accounting, accounting clerk, management, marketing, or retail management. Certificates should assist students who plan to enter the job market after only three or four quarters.
Required Courses
The accounting certificate provides students with an introduction to basic accounting skills, business administration, professional communication, and prepares them for entry level positions as accounts payable/accounts receivable clerks, office financial clerks, payroll assistants, and other positions in an office or business environment. Courses in the certificate may apply toward the associate of applied science degree in accounting.

Business Accounting Certificate Program Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- Demonstrate effective communications applying interpersonal and cultural awareness to business settings
- Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze and problem solve quantitative, legal, ethical, and other general business situations
- Perform accurate recordkeeping in a technology-based accounting system, including preparing individual income tax returns, compute payroll taxes, and prepare required reports
