Associate in Nursing - Direct Transfer Agreement/Major Ready Pathway, ADN-DTA/MRP

The YVC Associate in Nursing - Direct Transfer Agreement/Major Ready Pathway (ADN-DTA/MRP) degree is a direct transfer degree that is six quarters in length.  In addition, students must complete all the required courses prior to program entry.  All supporting course work must be successfully completed prior to entry into the fifth quarter (NRSE 220/221) of the Nursing program.  The program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and is approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.  Students who complete the six-quarter program are eligible to take the licensure exam for Registered Nursing (RN).

  • Humanities electives from the Humanities Distribution  10 Cr
  • Prerequisite Coursework  50 Cr
  • Communications  5 Cr

Total Credits 135


Quarters 1-4 are required for eligibility to take the NCLEX-PN licensure examination as is the course “Professional Vocational Relationships”, per the Washington State Nursing Care quality Assurance Commission.  The above courses are required for eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN licensure examination.

Associate in Nursing Program Learning Outcomes


Student will be able to:

  1. Coordinate safe, quality, evidence-based, client-centered care in a variety of health care settings to diverse client populations across the lifespan.
  2. Engage in clinical reasoning to make client-centered care decisions and to function within the complex health care environment.
  3. Integrate quality improvement processes that improve client care.
  4. Master collaboration and teamwork with members of the interprofessional team, the client, and the client’s support persons.
  5. Integrate information management principles, techniques, systems, and client care technology that communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
  6. Master management, legal, and ethical guidelines in practice as a professional nurse.
