Land Surveying Certificate

Yakima Valley College’s AAS degree in Land Survey & Construction Design Technology and Certificate in Land Surveying offers a comprehensive curriculum in topographic drafting, surveying, geographic information systems and surveying law.

Advanced technologies are transforming the functions of surveying, particularly in today’s construction environment. Surveying technicians collect data in the field, make calculations and do computer-aided drafting.

• Comprehensive curriculum includes:
  • mathematics
  • physics
  • GIS (geographic information systems)
  • technical drawing using multiple CAD programs
  • surveying concepts and principles
  • hands on training on top-of-the-line surveying instruments like Topcon, Leica, Trimble and on drone survey.
• To complement this program we are in the process of offering the (UAS) Unmanned Aerial Systems Certificate (Professional Remote Pilot Training) starting Fall 2019.
