PHIL 315: Professional Ethics

This course explores what it means to do good in the professional domain by bringing ethical theories to bear on moral issues that arise for business corporations and employees. Students will learn about various theories in metaethics and normative ethics, such as consequentialism, deontology, virtue ethics, and natural law.  Students will learn how such ethical theories apply to practical moral issues in professional contexts as the course explores corporate social responsibility, employee responsibility, fair hiring, marketing ethics, responsible product development, and environmental responsibility.
Prerequisite: Enrollment in BASM program at YVC.
