EDUC 131: Challenging Behaviors 3 Cr

This course explores basic skills needed to understand and address challenging behaviors in young children. Students will be expected to bring together techniques and information drawn from neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, special education, early care and education, child development, cross-cultural research, and proactive skills programs. Risk factors, protective factors, and the brain’s role in challenging behavior will be discussed.
Prerequisite: EDUC& 130 with a grade of C or better.
