MATH& 141: Precalculus I5 Cr Quarters: F, W, S, SR Precalculus I is the first of a two-quarter sequence that prepares students to study calculus. Topics studied include nonlinear equations and system, nonlinear inequalities, polynomial, rational, piece-wise, exponential, and logarithmic functions, and conics. Prerequisite: MATH 094 with a grade of B- or better or MATH 095 with a grade of C or better or YVC placement into MATH& 141. Note: A graphing calculator is required for this class. The calculator should be equivalent to the TI-84+ or TI-npsire (not CAS). Credit will be granted for either Quantitative or Natural Sciences distribution but not both.
