SUTC 039: Writing 6

1-4; Variable credits
Quarters: F, W, S
Writing 6 will focus on writing about literary themes and topics found in a work of fiction or literary non-fiction, enhanced by active participation in class discussions, while also connecting those themes and topics to the student’s own life and experiences. The writing will follow standard conventions of formatting, spelling, punctuation, and grammar. The student will also incorporate MLA formatting and include evidence from the book without plagiarizing. This course is for College and Career Readiness (CCR) Step Up To College (SUTC) students and will serve as an alternate method of reaching the English competency level required for a high school diploma. SUTC students can earn credit for this class through their local school districts.
Prerequisite: Completion of SUTC 038 or instructor recommendation.
