AHST 101: Surgical Fundamentals Lecture

3 Cr
Quarters: W, S
Students will explore the profession of surgical technology, the history of surgery, team members and roles in surgery, basic patient care concepts, communication skills, principles of asepsis, and decontamination and sterilization fundamentals. Students will have the opportunity to discuss all aspects of and plan for employment within the profession of surgical technology.
Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
