AGSCI 460: Physiology of Fruit Development 5 Cr Quarters: S The biology of how plants produce high quality seed and fruit crops will be covered. The process of pollination and various environmental factors that make fruit set successful will be covered in depth. Initiation of flowering, stages of fruit development and grain filling will be examined, with discussion on steps growers can take during this time to ensure high quality crops. Special case studies in grain/seed production, vegetable fruits, tree fruit, and other flower/fruit producing crops in Eastern Washington will be discussed. This course is a degree requirement within the BASAG program.
