BASED 412: Initial Competencies in Social Science Education

This course prepares students to teach social studies in Washington State in grades K-8. Focus areas of this course include cross curricular connections, teaching common core standards through social studies content, and methods to teach social studies content is a way that is engaging and relevant for 21st century learners.
Prerequisite: Admission to the BAS Teacher Education (BASTE) Program.
