BASED 304: Initial Competencies in Mathematics

Quarters: F, W, S
This course introduces the initial competencies in knowing and applying Washington State’s Mathematics K-12 Learning Standards for PreK-3 grade pupils. Candidates will be introduced to the use of data to set goals, individualize instruction and group pupils according to common math goals. Candidates will design lesson plans, deliver instruction, and assess pupils’ progress at an initial level of competency. Candidates will be introduced to technologies which will support their instruction, management of individual pupils’ documents and instructional records.
Prerequisite: Admission to the BAS Teacher Education (BASTE) Program.
