BASED 302: Initial Competencies in Literacy

This course introduces Washington State literacy and language arts standards for PreK-3rd grade students. Candidates will be introduced to data use to set goals, individualize instruction,and group pupils according to common literacy goals. Candidates will design lesson plans,deliver instruction, and assess student progress at an initial level of competency. Candidates will be introduced to technologies which support instruction and manage individual student documents and instructional records. 
Prerequisite: Admission to the BAS Teacher Education (BASTE) Program.
