PHIL 112: Ethics and Policy in Healthcare I

This course surveys metaethics and normative ethical theories that apply to healthcare ethics and policy governing nursing practice. The course introduces students to how normative ethical theories inform ethical standards and laws in healthcare relevant to the nursing profession. This course prepares students to apply ethical theory and policy to practical ethical issues in healthcare related to patient privacy, disabilities, beginning and end of life, gerontology, etc.
Prerequisite: Admission to the YVC Nursing program.
