MATH& 141: Precalculus I 5 Cr Quarters: F, W, S, SR This is the first of a two-quarter sequence that prepares students to study calculus. Topics studied include nonlinear equations and inequalities; polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions; conics; graphing transformed toolkit functions and piece-wise functions; compositions of functions; and inverse functions. Prerequisite: Completion of MATH 095 with a grade of C or better, a grade of S or concurrent enrollment in MATH 041 , or YVC placement into MATH& 141. Note: A graphing calculator is required for this class. The calculator should be equivalent to the TI-84+ or TI-npsire (not CAS). Credit will be granted for either Quantitative or Natural Sciences distribution but not both. Distribution for DTA: Quantitative or Natural Sciences
