CJ& 101: Introduction to Criminal Justice

This course is an introductory course designed to provide students with an overview of the Criminal Justice System in the United States. Students will examine the roles and responsibilities of professionals, agencies, and departments in the three tiers of the CJ system: Law Enforcement, Courts, and Corrections. This course covers the philosophy and history of the criminal Justice system; types of crime and how crime is measured; the organization and jurisdiction of the agencies in the system along with the administration of the justice process, from the commission of a crime until final disposition.
