BIOL& 221: Majors Ecology/Evolution: Biology 2

This course is intended for transfer science majors and is the second in a three-course sequence in biology. The course explores ecological and evolutionary forces that have diversified life on Earth.  Students will study the major groups of life, their features, and evolutionary history.  Students will also explore origin of life theory, genetic control and diversification, how size and the environment shape organisms, and how patterns of habitat distribution form across the Earth.  
Prerequisite: Completion with a C or better of one of the following biology pathways:  BIOL& 222 , OR BIOL& 160  and BIOL 200 , AND completion of or concurrent enrollment in CHEM& 161 .
