VET 164: Surgical Nursing Lecture

This course covers the principles and practices for development of veterinary surgical assistant skills,  including surgical preparations and assisting, aseptic technique, care and use of surgical instrumentation and equipment, plus maintenance of the surgical suite. Concurrent enrollment in VET 165   Surgical Nursing lab is required.
Prerequisite: VET 114  , VET 115  , and VET 118   with a grade of C- or better or permission of instructor and/or Vet Tech Program Director, and concurrent enrollment in VET 165 .
