CMST& 101: Introduction to Communication5 Cr Quarters: F, W, S,SR This course emphasizes and provides experience in applying the basic principles of human perception and communication in five areas: interpersonal, small group, public speaking, mass communication, and technological speech communication. Students will study and increase their understanding and skills in audience and occasion analysis, developing subject and purpose through critical thinking and gathering and organizing material. Students will learn and apply communication and cross-cultural and global perspective skills with special emphasis on interpersonal and small group and audience-centered communication. Credit will be given for Communications or Humanities distribution but not both. Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENGL 095 . Distribution for DTA: Communications or Humanities but not both.
