AHCN 205: Influencing Client Outcomes1 Cr

In this course, students will identify the challenges clients face in making lasting changes that positively affect health and wellness, and explore communication strategies to engage clients and their families in their own care. Evidence-based strategies that support healthy behaviors will be introduced. Students will practice motivational interviewing techniques, Teach Back technique and activation conversations that focus on strategies to engage both clients and families.
Prerequisite: Completion of AHCN 204 with a minimum grade of C or by permission of instructor.
